Goal of RHS
RHS Loans, or USDA Loan, are loans guaranteed or made by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Housing Service (RHS).
The goal of RHS is to provide rural housing and community service facilities that will improve the quality of life of those living in rural communities in the country. The USDA Loan program, which is one of the most popular projects of the division, allows residents with low to moderate incomes to buy a rural home for a single family.
If you are a qualified applicant, you can borrow from the RHS with an up-front funding fee of just 1%.
A USDA Loan is a “No Closing Cost Mortgage” meaning you put nothing down at close.
You must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. non-citizen national or Qualified Alien.
You must agree to occupy the residence as your primary dwelling place.
You must have the legal capability to obtain the loan.
You must not have been debarred from participating in federal programs.
You must purchase a property that meets the criteria set by the RHS and USDA.
